Mount Airy Online Casino Frequently Asked Questions

Mount Airy Casino was the second of nine PA casinos to apply for an online gambling license over the last week, leading to the possibility the Mount Pocono based casino could be offering online gambling very soon.

Although some questions remain, we know a bit more about the Mount Airy online casino than we did a week ago. Let’s dive in.

What does the license application mean?

Mount Airy will pay $10 million to the state of Pennsylvania should their application be approved to offer various forms of online gambling as covered by the 2017 gambling expansion signed by Governor Tom Wolf. The $10 million license covers peer to peer games, interactive slot machines and interactive table games.

What games will the Mount Airy online casino offer?

Should Mount Airy’s application be approved as expected, the casino would be authorized to offer online poker, online table games and online slot games. The table games will be similar to games that can be found in casinos – blackjack, craps, pai gow and baccarat, to name a few. The online slot game selection will likely be available by the dozen.

What software provider has Mount Airy partnered with for an online casino?

Mount Airy partnered with 888 Holdings in 2015 in preparation for online gambling eventually coming to PA. 888 Holdings is one of the largest providers in the world for online casino and poker software, including in regulated markets in the United States. The partnership should give Mount Airy and other casinos using the software a competitive advantage, given their experience in regulated markets.

What happens next?

The Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board will be given 90 days to make a decision on Mount Airy’s license application. The regulatory body will also be accepting new applications until mid August from Pennsylvania casinos willing to pay the $4 million price tag for individual product license.

When will the Mount Airy online casino go live?

Given that the PGCB will likely decide on Mount Airy’s online casino application by the end of October, the online casino could conceivably launch soon after. Of course, Mount Airy will need to be ready to go by then, and its not known how close Mount Airy is to launching an online gambling site.

While you wait for the Mount Airy online casino to launch, you may play real money games through the PA online lottery, where new sign-ups receive a free $5 no deposit bonus. Check the page to receive your PA online lottery bonus code.

Who will be allowed to play at Mount Airy online casino?

By law, Mount Airy and other online casinos are not allowed to accept any player under the age of 21. In addition, because Pennsylvania is one of the few states to regulate online gambling, only players located within the state of Pennsylvania will be permitted to play on the Mount Airy Casino.
