Parx Casino Applies For PA Online Gambling License

Big news for Pennsylvania online gambling on Friday as Parx became the first Pennsylvania casino to apply for online gambling in the state. Later Friday, they were joined by Mount Airy and Stadium LLC, the owner of a yet-to-be-built casino in Philadelphia.

After this landmark announcement, PA No Deposit examines some top questions about the latest step in online gambling launching in Pennsylvania.

What will Parx Casino offer?

If approved — which is expected — the Parx Casino would be eligible to offer online poker — and other approved peer to peer games — as well as online table games/slots as part of comprehensive $10 million license package that they applied for before a Monday deadline. Pennsylvania’s thirteen casinos — which includes the casino from Stadium LLC — will have another 30 days to apply for individual licenses (poker, table games, slots) at a price tag of $4 million per license.

Who will provide the software for Parx Casino?

GAN has announced that will be the software provider for Parx online gambling software. In addition to software, GAN technology will allow Parx Casino customers to link their player’s reward card instantly to their online account, allowing players to exchange their rewards online, among other perks.

Is there a time table to launch?

The Parx Casino would first need to be approved for a license to offer online gambling in the state, and at that this point there has been no official word on how long that would take. Given GAN’s existing relationship with the Parx Casino, the casino likely has a leg up on the completion to position themselves as one of the first online casinos to market in Pennsylvania once given the go-ahead. While initial projections predicted this may happen this summer, later in 2018 seems to be a better bet, but this will depend on how quickly applications are approved.

While Pennsylvania players wait, they can explore the Pennsylvania Online Lottery, which offers simplified but engaging gambling games. New players can receive a $5 no deposit bonus upon signing up.

Is there a chance that Parx will not be approved?

The license process for established casinos in Pennsylvania is likely to be mostly a formality. As the largest casino in Pennsylvania, it’s hard to imagine a scenario where Parx would be rejected for online gambling in Penn.

How will Parx fit into the landscape in Pennsylvania?

The Parx Casino is the largest brick and mortar casino in Pennsylvania, generating $570 million from slot machines and table games during the last fiscal year which ended in June. This represents 18% of the total amount of revenue generated by the state’s twelve casinos.
