Pennsylvania’s Parx And Hollywood Go Live With Online Casinos

It’s only for eight hours, but on Monday, the Parx and the Hollywood Casinos went live with the first online casinos in PA. The pair of online casinos will undergo two or three days of testing before a full launch in the middle of the week. On Wednesday, the SugarHouse Online Casino will be involved in a testing period of its own.

Hollywood Casino goes live with limited games

The day started out with the launch of the Hollywood Online Casino, which is the internet home of the Hollywood Casino at Penn National. Although they were the first go live with land-based sports betting last November, they have yet to open up an online sportsbook.

At launch, the Hollywood Casino online features a relatively toned down casino consisting of a few dozen slot games and as well as some limited table games including video poker and baccarat. Games are available through the Android app as well as a web-based platform available on laptop and desktop computers.

Parx offering over 200 different games

The Parx Online Casino went live with an online sportsbook last month. At launch, the Parx Casino online also features a more robust offering of game titles. Players can find over 150 slots as well as a healthy selection of table games, keno and video poker. Parx was also ready to go with a $250 bonus for new players as well as an XClub Rewards program complete with Comp Dollars to keep reward frequent players for their business.

PA online gambling regulator, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, is said to be approving games at a relatively slow rate. It is expected that additional games will continue to become available over the coming days, weeks and months so players should not necessarily judge the online casinos by their initial offerings.

A third PA online casino set for later in the week

Should testing of the Hollywood Online Casino and Parx Online Casino go well, they would be able to offer games to Pennsylvanians around the clock beginning on Wednesday or Thursday. Additional games are expected to be added as they are approved by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

This will be followed up by the opening of the PlaySugarHouse, the online casino of the SugarHouse Casino, which was recently renamed to the Rivers Casino Philadelphia. The casino will undergo its testing on Wednesday, which puts a full launch by the end of the week. After that, a handful of additional online casinos are expected by the end of the summer or sometime by the end of the year. is an affiliate of the brands we promote throughout this site.
